The poem describes a conversation between the squirrel and the mountain. The squirrel points out that in this world every being, living or non-living, big or small, have their individual reasons for existence.
Ye nazm/kavita ek baat cheet ko darshata hai jo ek gilehri aur ek pahad ke darmiyan hoti hai. Gilehri is baat ki taraf ishara karti hai ke is duniya mein har cheez, zinda ya bejaan, badi ya choti, ke paas apne wajood ka alag alag maqsad hota hai.

The text
The mountain and the squirrel
Pahad aur gilehri
Had a quarrel;
ka ek jhagra tha;
And the former called the latter ‘Little Prig.’
Aur pehla dusre ko ‘Chhoti Budhiman’ keh kar pukarta hai.
Bun replied,
Bun (gilehri) jawab deti hai,
‘You are doubtless very big;
‘Tum bezaraar bohot bade ho;
But all sorts of things and weather
Lekin har qisam ki cheezen aur mausam
Must be taken in together,
ko saath le kar,
To make up a year
Sal banti hai.
And a sphere.
aur duniya banti hai.
And I think it no disgrace
Aur main samjhti hoon ke koi sharm ki baat nahi hai
To occupy my place.
meri jagah lena.
If I’m not so large as you,
Agar main tum jitni badi nahi hoon,
You are not so small as I,
Toh tum meri jitni choti nahi ho,
And not half so spry.
Aur itni furti nahi rakhte.
I’ll not deny you make
Main nahi inkar karti ke tum
A very pretty squirrel track;
ek bohot khoobsurat gilehri ka raasta banate ho;
Talents differ; all is well and wisely put;
Hunar alag alag hain; sab kuch achha hai aur hikmat/buddhi se sajha hai;
